Bio: Mick Clegg – Power Development Coach (Previously of Manchester United)
Mick had the amazing privilege to work at Manchester United Football Club from 2000 to 2011. He was the Power Development (Strength & Conditioning) Coach and fitness trainer to many of the world’s top football players including Roy Keane, Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville, to name just a few.
Since he left Manchester United he has continued to coach other top class athletes including Mike Eade, Kyle Howarth, Matt Gilks and Aaron Cook as well as working with those in golf, BMX, rugby and American football.
Mick was invited to join the scientific advisory board for CogniSens Athletics after his use of the NeuroTracker and consequent work on his SeedofSpeed Philosophy which he is founder of. Mick is also the Director of Sports Performance Innovation, a company born out of his SeedofSpeed ideology.
Bio: Mickey McGurn - International Strength and Conditioning Coach
International Strength and Conditioning Coach Mike McGurn has the prestigious honour of training three National Senior Irish Teams in different codes and winning two World Titles in two different sports. McGurn has overseen the physical conditioning of these National teams at 3 World Cups and 8 Six Nations Tournaments. Clients have included:
McGurn regularly presents at conferences on Strength and Conditioning in Australia, Poland, UK and the US. including the UEFA Soccer European Pro Licence and Australian Strength and Conditioning Association Conference. He is widely considered as one of the top strength and conditioning coaches in the business.
Bio: Dr Neil Heron – Sport Medicine Physician
Dr Neil Heron is a NIHR Clinical Fellow in GP with a specialist interest in sports medicine at Queen’s University, Belfast (QUB) where he is at the forefront of sport medicine and general practice within the UK and beyond. Dr Heron is a fully qualified sports medicine physician, holding the UK sport medicine diploma from the FSEM (UK) and a member of the FSEM (UK and Ireland), and GP, being MRCGP qualified.
In 2012 Dr Heron was awarded the ECOSEP (European College of Sport and Exercise Physicians) travelling fellowship in recognition of his expertise and drive within sports medicine.
He has previously been Team Physician to various high-level sport teams, including Linfield FC and Northern Ireland international football teams. Dr Heron has extensive experience of working at multi-sport games and recently worked as a medical officer for the World Police and Fire Games, 2013, as well as the Giro D’Italia cycling road race and attended the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow as a medical officer.Read the full course description
